Wisconsin LB announces decision to graduate transfer, enters NCAA portal
Christian Bell is on the move again.
On Friday, the Wisconsin linebacker announced via Twitter that he will be leaving Wisconsin and pursuing another opportunity at a different program as a graduate transfer. Bell initially joined the Badgers in 2016 as a transfer from Alabama.
Bell spent three seasons with Wisconsin and appeared in seven games this fall. He made four tackles and registered a sack as the Badgers finished the year with a 10-4 record.
“First and foremost I want to thank my lord and savior for everything,” Bell wrote. “I wouldn’t be where I am without him. I want to thank the coaches for the opportunity. I also want to thank my teammates for unforgettable moments. All love from me. With multiple meetings and conversation with my family and coaches I have decided to transfer and be a grad transfer! Let’s work!”

As a graduate transfer, Bell will be immediately eligible to play for the 2020 season. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
In three seasons with the Badgers, Bell appeared in 24 games and recorded eight tackles, two sacks and forced a fumble. He was a member of two Wisconsin teams that reached the B1G Championship Game (2017, 2019).
Bell did not mention any potential landing spots or a reason for his decision to transfer in his post.
