Maema Njongmeta remembers how last season’s meeting with Washington State went. The Cougars beat Wisconsin 17-14 thanks to a receiving touchdown from former Badger Nakia Watson.

After the game, Washington State players celebrated on the “W” at midfield.

Njongmeta had 95 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks last season. The veteran linebacker is looking forward to the chance to leave Washington State with a win on Saturday.

“I remember them storming the field and jumping on the W. I remember their social media was all about the narrative of Nakia coming back and winning against his former team. I’m very excited to go into their house and make things right.”

When asked if his teammates are planning on celebrating at midfield, Njongmeta smiled and stated that he’s only worried about the game.  However, Njongmeta didn’t rule it out.

“Hey, I’m just worried about playing the game right now,” said Njongmeta. “We’ll see what happens.”

The Badgers will have a chance to avenge last season’s loss to the Cougars in Pullman. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
