Wisconsin is moving on up, making a major push in the latest AP Top 25.

On Monday, the latest AP Poll dropped with the Badgers among the highest risers in this week’s poll. Greg Gard’s squad jumped 7 spots overall, rising from No. 13 last week to No. 6.

That is the highest ranking for the Badgers since late in the 2021-22 season, a span of nearly 2 seasons before returning to the top 10 of the AP Poll.

UConn continues to lead the way atop the AP Poll while Purdue, North Carolina, Houston and Tennessee round out of the top 5. UConn dominated the first-place votes with 48 while Purdue generated 14 votes and Houston received 1.

Wisconsin continues to lead the B1G standings at 8-1 in conference play with Purdue at 8-2 in the B1G. Now, the two sides brace for a collision course on Sunday in Madison.

The Badgers face Nebraska and the Boilermakers face Northwestern before then, but the league leaders will be the week’s main entree. Sunday’s will have major ramifications on the eventual B1G title. The two sides will not see each other again until the regular-season finale in West Lafayette.
