The new date is set.

On Monday afternoon, both Wisconsin and Notre Dame announced that the two schools had agreed to a make-up date for the 2020 game at Lambeau Field, which was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fighting Irish joined the ACC for one season while the Badgers played a conference-only schedule as part of the B1G’s return-to-play plan.

Both sides made the announcement with a post on Twitter on Monday. It will be the second meeting in a head-to-head series that will be played at NFL stadiums.

The game will be played on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026.

This year, Notre Dame and Wisconsin will meet at Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears, on Saturday, Sept. 25. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET and the game will air on FOX as the Big Noon Kickoff game.

Wisconsin and Notre Dame have played 16 times. The Fighting Irish own a narrow 8-6-2 advantage, though it’s been quite some time since the two schools last played. The last meeting was held in 1964 in Madison, a 31-7 victory for Notre Dame.
