Wisconsin offensive lineman Michael Furtney decided to enter the transfer portal. He announced his decision on social media:

Coming out of high school Furtney, was a 3-star recruit out of Milan, Michigan, and committed to the Badgers back in 2017. Furtney appeared in 31 games for UW, including 2 starts at right guard for the team. He is also a three-time Academic All-B1G.

Furtney is looking now to move on to greener pastures although he hasn’t said where he will be landing next, but it is clear he is seeking more playing time in the future.

He won’t be the only Badger that is expected to move on, just one of the first. Several major college football teams are expected to lose players and a lot will lose some big names from their rosters.

Hopefully, for the Badgers, that number won’t increase too much but it might be quite a few that they may have to replace.
