Wisconsin OL Jack Nelson confirms plans for 2024
Wisconsin OL Jack Nelson is not done with his time in Madison.
Nelson, a longtime starter and veteran piece of the offensive line, originally joined the Badgers as an in-state piece of the 2020 recruiting class. After redshirting his first season with the program, Nelson has since started over 30 games along the line.
While meeting with the media on Wednesday, Nelson confirmed he’s going to utilize a 5th season at Wisconsin in 2024. He referred to it as a selfish process as he thought about what was best for his career but admitted how much the program meant to him on a personal level.
“It’s a selfish decision, you know? It’s a selfish decision process and thinking about what would be best for my future, my family, everything like that,” Nelson admitted. “But then taking into account how much this place means to me this is something I really want to be a part of as long as I can and want to go out on a good foot, a better foot than it would have been leaving this year.”

After starting 13 games at right guard in the 2021 season, Nelson was moved to left tackle for the 2022 season with 12 starts. Now, he gives the Badgers and head coach Luke Fickell a key piece to build around entering 2024.
