Wisconsin opens as slim road favorite in B1G opener vs. Purdue
Wisconsin travels to Purdue in Week 4 for its B1G opener. Last season’s meeting in Madison ended with a 35-24 Badgers win.
Luke Fickell’s team recovered after losing to Washington State in Pullman in Week 2. Wisconsin responded with a 35-14 win over Georgia Southern. Neither team is ranked coming into the matchup, but this B1G West battle should be a good one.
Circa Sports released the opening lines for Week 4 on Sunday. Despite the game being in West Lafayette, Wisconsin is favored by -4 on the road. The point total is set at 54.5 for the matchup. Fans who want to get in on the action can do so on BetMGM.

Wisconsin is heading into the B1G opener at 2-1 through the first three games of Fickell’s tenure. Ryan Walters and Purdue return home at 1-2 after losing to Syracuse 35-20.
Fickell’s offense is looking good so far, averaging 440.7 total yards per game. The Badgers rank fourth in the B1G in that stat. Purdue’s offense under Walters averages the sixth-most total yards in the conference at 397.7 per game.
The rushing duo of Braelon Allen and Chez Mellusi is looking to be deadly so far. Fickell understands how important the running game is to his offense.
The running game for Purdue was held in check in Week 3 by the Orange. If Wisconsin can do the same in Week 4, it could be another victory.
Wisconsin holds a 16-game winning streak against Purdue heading into Friday. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET on FS1.
