The Wisconsin Badgers normally stick to the midwest when it comes to recruiting, doing a good job of landing top commits from Big Ten country.

However, on Sunday morning, coach Paul Chryst’s squad landed a 3-star 2019 cornerback out of Florida — their first Florida commit in the class.

As you can see in the tweet below, James Williams announced he’d be heading north to join the Badgers in 2019 and beyond:

According to the 247Sports composite, Williams is the No. 116 cornerback in the class of 2019 and the No. 154 overall recruit from the state of Florida.

Williams is the ninth player to commit to the Badgers’ 2019 class. Prior to his commitment, the class was ranked No. 5 in the Big Ten and No. 22 nationally, per 247Sports.
