Wisconsin produces early candidate for worst FG attempt of the 2022 season

No. 19 Wisconsin needed a solid 43-yard field goal from kicker Vito Calvaruso to tie the game up 17-17 against Washington State. Calvaruso’s kick, however, was not even close and the miss may go down as one of the worst field goal attempts this 2022 season.
The missed field goal came right at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The kick looked like it might have been tipped at the line of scrimmage, but there was no tip, and the fault can be placed solely on the kicker.

This 2022 season is the second season for Calvaruso with Wisconsin after transferring from Arkansas for the first two years of his collegiate career. Last year, he was 5-of-5 in extra points and 1-of-1 in field goals.
Washington State has defeated Wisconsin for the first time in program history after losing the only two previous matchups.
