In four games this season, Mertz has thrown for 566 yards, 1 touchdown, and 6 interceptions on 56 completions (out of 95 passing attempts). If Mertz cannot play in Wisconsin’s next game on Saturday against Illinois, backup quarterback Chase Wolf would likely come in as the starter.
