Wisconsin has provided an update to the results of its COVID-19 testing.

On Wednesday, the athletic department announced that it has conducted a total of 428 COVID-19 screenings. Seven student-athletes have tested positive for the virus.

Testing began on June 8, when 117 student-athletes were tested as part of the initial arrival group. In that time, Wisconsin has conducted voluntary team workouts, like most other athletic departments across the country.

“The department continues to isolate individuals who have tested positive and UW Athletics’ Infection Response Team is monitoring their recoveries,” the school said in a statement.

Wisconsin’s football season is currently scheduled to begin on Friday, Sept. 4 when the Badgers host Indiana.

On Wednesday, Ohio State announced it was halting its voluntary workouts as a result of COVID-19 test results. The school did not release any specific numbers, but it is the first B1G school to hit the pause button at this time.
