Faion Hicks saw all he needed to see while on an official visit in Madison last night. On Sunday morning, the Pembroke Pines, Fla. defensive back committed to Wisconsin.

“I chose Wisconsin mainly because of the coaches,” Hicks told 247Sports. “They have a need for cornerbacks so there’s playing time opportunities there as well. Also they have a great tradition. …Wisconsin is looking at me to carry on that tradition and come in and make an impact.”

Hicks (5-foot-11, 180 pounds), a three-star prospect, ranks as the No. 147 corner from the 2017 recruiting class. He chose the Badgers over 15 other verbal offers including Iowa State, Western Kentucky and Appalachian State.

“I’m going to be a playmaker for Wisconsin,” Hicks said. “I’m going to bring that attitude and that south Florida swag.”

Hicks becomes commit No. 12 for Wisconsin.
