Nobody wants to start fall camp with the negative news. In a violent game, though, there’s bound to be players sitting on the sidelines because of injuries, regardless of the time of year.

As fall camp gets underway, Wisconsin released its first injury report of the 2021 season. A few players are already ruled out for the year, while a handful of others missed Friday’s first practice of the year.

Below are the players that were included on the injury report, per BadgersWire.com:

  • TE Cole Dakovich, out for season (leg injury)
  • LS Duncan McKinley, out for season (leg injury)
  • LT Tyler Beach, missed practice (leg injury)
  • S Travian Blaylock, missed practice (leg injury)
  • LB C.J. Goetz, missed practice (leg injury)
  • LB Aaron Witt, missed practice (leg injury)
  • WR Stephan Bracey, missed practice (leg injury)
  • LB Ayo Adebogun, missed practice (leg injury)
  • LB Jake Chaney, missed practice (arm injury)

We’ll see how quickly some of these players return to the practice field in Madison.

The Badgers are coming off a 4-3 campaign in 2020. Paul Chryst’s squad has a difficult challenge to open the year, hosting Penn State at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 4.
