One more year.

That was the message from Faion Hicks on Saturday morning, the Wisconsin starting cornerback announcing that he will be back for 2021.  In seven games this year, Hicks produced 13 tackles and his four passes defended tied a career high.

It’s big news for the Badgers secondary, which should have plenty of experience heading into the 2021 campaign. And after a 4-3 season, the program is looking to climb back up to the top of the B1G and challenge for a return to the title game at Lucas Oil Stadium next season.

So far in three seasons at Wisconsin, the highly-rated cornerback has 64 tackles with nine passes defended and an interception in 33 games.

The versatile Hicks can play either cornerback position as well as the nickel. His return is a positive for a defense that is shaping up to be really good in 2021.

Also on Saturday, Badgers linebacker Jack Sanborn announced he will return to Madison next season.

Wisconsin closed out the 2020 campaign with wins its final two games. The Badgers defeated Minnesota in overtime to keep Paul Bunyan’s Axe and then defeated Wake Forest in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl to finish on the right side of .500.
