When Wisconsin takes the field tonight for their B1G opener vs. visiting Illinois, they’ll be making an off the field statement with their helmets.

The Badgers are donning special helmets with a symbol signifying social unity.

With recent incidents occurring in the state, Wisconsin has been an epicenter in the fight for social justice. The Badgers players are proud that their school is standing alongside them as advocates.

They believe it’s a necessary local step as the nation attempts to unite as a whole.

“As a black man in this program, it means a lot that this school stands with us and it’s showing everybody that we don’t agree with what’s going on,” Cornerback Faion Hicks said.

Friday’s kick is set for 8 pm EST on BTN. Be sure to tune in to check out the new decal and the Badgers in action against the Illini.
