Wisconsin volleyball is coming off a national championship win in 2021. Now, they’ll prepare for a special non-conference match early in the 2022 season.

Traditionally, the Badgers play their matches inside the Wisconsin Field House. That venue houses around 7,500 fans for matches.

However, for one night in September, Wisconsin volleyball will take over the Kohl’s Center, the traditional home of men’s and women’s basketball. That capacity is a little over 17,000 fans.

“You kept asking. We listened. It’s happening,” wrote Wisconsin volleyball in its announcement. That match will come on Friday, Sept. 16 vs. Florida.

Wisconsin has won the B1G 3 years running, including 3 straight trips to the national semifinals (2019-21). Last season marked the first national championship for the Badgers.

Now, they’ll prepare to defend their conference and national title crowns this fall. The season will begin in late August.
