Wisconsin WR announces plans to hit transfer portal prior to Week 3
One Wisconsin WR is announcing his plans to hit the transfer portal after just two weeks of the season.
Keontez Lewis, a key receiver from a season ago, announced his intentions to hit the portal Thursday evening. He will maintain two years of eligibility wherever he winds up.
“Thank you Wisconsin! I will be entering my name into the NCAA transfer portal with 2 years left of eligibility,” Lewis wrote on social media.
Lewis began his career at UCLA before transferring into Wisconsin a season ago. He finished third on the Badgers with 20 catches for 313 yards and 3 touchdowns during the 2022 season.
So far this season, Lewis had just 1 catch for 12 yards. The season was still early with just two games in the books, but it looked like Will Pauling, Skyler Bell and Chimere Dike were carving out bigger roles in the offense.
Based on the current NCAA guidelines, Lewis would likely have to sit out for one year as a two-time transfer. We’ll see where he winds up for the 2024 season.
