Wisconsin wide receiver Quintez Cephus is no longer a member of the Badgers’ football team as he waits to stand trial for sexual assault charges.

Cephus was not listed on Wisconsin’s spring roster and a school official confirmed with Madison.com that the receiver was no longer with the program. His trial date is set for July 29 after new evidence in the case postponed the February trial.

The charges were brought against Cephus in August 2018 and the wide receiver was indefinitely suspended from the team. He missed the entire season.

As a sophomore in 2017, Cephus totaled 30 receptions for 501 yards and six touchdowns.

The charges against Cephus stem from an incident that occurred in April 2018. Charges of second degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim and third degree sexual assault were filed in August.
