Wisconsin's defense completely shut down Michigan State's offense in the first half
Every week, Wisconsin seems to do something that impresses us. This Saturday was no exception when the Badgers hosted Michigan State.
Wisconsin completely dominated the first half of Saturday’s B1G clash, taking a 17-0 lead into the halftime break. But it wasn’t just the scoreboard where the Badgers dominated. The defense absolutely shut down the Spartan offense through the first 30 minutes.
Michigan State ended the first half with one first down and just nine rushing yards. In total, the Spartans accounted for just 38 yards of offense and possessed the ball for a meager 6:34.
Halftime also marked the 22nd quarter played by Wisconsin this season. The Badgers have held teams scoreless in 18 of those quarters. The Badgers have not trailed this season.
If Wisconsin’s defense continues at this rate, the Badgers may find themselves in the top five in the AP poll on Sunday.
