Wisconsin's Greg Gard gives update on key player for the Badgers
Wisconsin basketball head coach Greg Gard spoke to the media with Wisconsin’s NCAA Tournament game vs Colgate coming up.
The Badgers’ leading scorer and rebounder, Johnny Davis sustained an ankle injury after the team’s 74-73 loss Nebraska in the regular season on March 6. Davis has averaged 19.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this season.
Gard gave an update on the status of Davis, and if he’ll be 100% healthy for the Colgate game per Will Backus of 247Sports:
“Yeah. It’s been right in normal with everybody else,” said Gard. “I’ve mixed practice through the week in terms of contact, no contact, drill only, just knowing that we want to be fresh and healthy for everybody, and, obviously, he’s at the top of the list. He’s gone through everything that everybody else has through the week.”

If Davis isn’t at 100%, the Badgers could look like a very different team. We’ll see if any more updates about Davis’ status come out before game time.
You can watch 3-seed Wisconsin take on 14-seed Colgate at 9:50 p.m. ET on TBS.
