What Wisconsin's Paul Chryst said at weekly press conference
Wisconsin came out of the gate strong in Week 1, clobbering Western Kentucky 34-3 in the season opener. And the Badgers did it with balance and efficiency.
Running back Jonathan Taylor was his usual sensational self and Alex Hornibrook had a solid outing under center. The defense was about as tough as you could’ve asked, too.
Focus shifts onto Week 2 now, as Wisconsin hosts New Mexico in non-conference action. Here’s what head coach Paul Chryst had to say at his weekly press conference:
On Wisconsin injury report:
#Badgers HC Paul Chryst on Isaiahh Loudermilk getting off of the injury report – "It's good to have guys back. You always want to play with your whole team."

Chryst also says Zander Neuville will be able to practice this week. #Badgers blocking would get a boost if he is able to play.

In answering a question about Zander Neuville, Chryst says Luke Benzschawel will miss a couple of games. #Badgers TE left Friday's game with a leg injury.

On the offensive line:
Chryst says he thought Cole Van Lanen played well on Friday night. Split reps with Jon Dietzen and then finished out the second half. #Badgers after the game said they didn't feel like there was a drop-off between one or the other.

Chryst says play of Matt Henningsen and Kayden Lyles will allow the #Badgers to ease Loudermilk back in to action if he is ready to go this week.
