We’ve got another Saturday night showdown in the B1G.

This weekend, No. 15 Wisconsin travels to No. 12 Michigan for a head-to-head matchup that will boost one team’s College Football Playoff resume and essentially eliminate the loser. So yeah, it’s kind of a big game.

On Monday Badgers head coach Paul Chryst talked about the upcoming matchup, saying that Michigan is a talented, well-coached team. He also praised the team for it’s stout defensive unit, which has been a staple under Don Brown.

Chryst also talked about Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson, who has continued to improve on a week-to-week basis. He said Wisconsin will have to play “assignment” football to try and keep Patterson in check.

Patterson is coming off a 282-yard, three-touchdown performance against Maryland.

Chryst is 1-1 against Michigan in the last two seasons. The Wolverines won the 2016 matchup in Ann Arbor and the Badgers took last year’s game in Madison. Both seasons, there’s been plenty at stake.

But this will be an elimination game for both teams. While Wisconsin and Michigan could still win the B1G with a loss this weekend, it’s unlikely that either team would reach the CFB Playoff with two losses.

We’re setting the stage for a huge matchup on Saturday night.
