Wisconsin's Paul Chryst updates status of safety D'Cota Dixon, QB Jack Coan on radio show
Wisconsin had to play with its backup QB a week ago due to Alex Hornibrook dealing with a concussion.
The Badgers faced Northwestern and lost 31-17. Wisconsin missed its typical starting signal caller. The team has also missed safety D’Cota Dixon.
Dixon, a senior leader on the defense, has missed the team’s last 3 games. The Badgers have gone 1-2 in those games.
On Thursday, Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst had his radio show ahead of the game on Saturday against Rutgers. Chryst talked about Dixon and Hornibrook’s backup, Jack Coan — who stepped in for Hornibrook against Northwestern.
#Badgers Paul Chryst, on his radio show, reiterates that Jack Coan is still in the pool of players who could play no more than 4 games and redshirt this season. Another injury to Hornibrook could change that, however.

If you’re a Badgers fan, you’d love to see Coan be able to take a redshirt if he can. Hornibrook has been the starter for a reason. And if Dixon is back, that will undoubtedly improve the team on the other side of the ball.
Kickoff against Northwestern is set for noon in Madison, Wis. with the game being televised on BTN.
