Wisconsin has lost its top receiver for the remainder of the 2017 season.

On Thursday, the Badgers released their daily injury report and star receiver Quintez Cephus was listed as out for the season. Cephus was injured in Wisconsin’s game against Indiana last Saturday, after a teammate inadvertently rolled into the receiver while making a block.

Jesse Temple tweeted out the injury report.

The injury to Cephus was considered to be serious and he was ruled out for the Week 11 matchup against Iowa, but there seemed to be a consensus that the receiver would miss the remainder of the season. After the injury in Bloomington, Cephus was seen standing on crutches on the sideline.

Cephus was the top receiver for the Badgers this season, catching 30 passes for 501 yards and six touchdowns. His yardage total ranked ninth in the B1G among other pass-catchers.

Wisconsin has been hammered by injuries at wide receiver. In addition to Cephus, George Rushing and Jazz Peavy have missed significant time this season.
