Last year, Wisconsin wide receiver Danny Davis suffered a concussion in Week 2 and didn’t play again.

He’s back for his fifth year this season — and is being extra cautious.

Davis took a hit in practice and had a headache the next day. Because of that, he and the coaching staff decided it was best the wide receiver sit out for a few days before returning to practice.

Now, he said he’s feeling better after time off.

Davis is likely Paul Chryst’s No. 1 receiver and has racked up more than 1,000 receiving yards during his career in Madison. It sounds like he’s good to go for Wisconsin’s season-opening matchup with Penn State on Saturday in Madison.

The Badgers were without their top two wide receivers for a period of time during the 2020 season, with Kendric Pryor also missing time. Those two, along with tight end Jake Ferguson, should provide quarterback Graham Mertz with some solid options in the passing attack.
