Tai Felton is putting together one of the best seasons for any Maryland receiver, and he furthered his name in the record books on Saturday night against Rutgers.
He became the 4th receiver to ever go over 1,000 receiving yards in a season at Maryland, and he also broke DJ Moore’s school record when he made his 81st catch of the season.

Felton has had at least 5 catches in every game this season and at least 7 in all but 1 game. He got off to a blistering start to the season, as he had at least 7 catches and 117 yards in each of the first 4 games. Felton also scored in each of those games as well.
Entering Saturday night, he had 80 catches for 979 yards and 6 touchdowns. Those numbers are nearly identical to his first 3 years at Maryland when he had 1,083 yards and 8 touchdowns overall.
The school record for receiving yards is definitely within striking distance. Currently, the single-season leader is Marcus Badgett, who had 1,240 yards in 1992. The other two receivers in front of Felton are Moore and former Baltimore Ravens receiver Torrey Smith.
After Saturday’s game, the Terrapins have 2 games remaining against Iowa and at Penn State. Kickoff for next week’s game against Iowa is at 12 p.m. ET and will be aired on the BTN.
