Purdue defensive tackle Steven Faucheux is in the transfer portal.

He announced that news on Wednesday night:

Faucheux redshirted in 2019 and did not play in 2020.

He was apart of Purdue’s 2019 recruiting class. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he was the No. 28 defensive tackle and the No. 395 overall player in that class.

Faucheux is originally from West Chester, Ohio, and attended Lakota West High School.

According to 247Sports, he had offers from numerous college football powers including Alabama, Florida, Penn State, Nebraska, Tennessee, Maryland, Louisville, Kentucky and others.

Purdue is expected to return depth at defensive tackle, so there likely wasn’t going to be much playing time for Faucheux in 2021 either. Indiana transfer Damarjhe Lewis is also joining the fold at defensive tackle for the Boilermakers.

Purdue could continue to look for more help in the transfer portal as well. Coach Jeff Brohm has already secured commitments from six transfers, including four from Power 5 programs.
