Colin Cowherd has sided with Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher as well. Alabama HC Nick Saban recently accused Fisher of buying all of his recruits when it comes to his 2022 recruiting class.
ESPN CFB Analyst Paul Finebaum has already stated that he believes Saban is worried about the threat that NIL deals pose to the Crimson Tide. Cowherd went on his talk show ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd’ to talk about where he stands on Thursday. Cowherd stated he was disappointed with how Saban handled the situation.
Here’s what Cowherd had to say about it:
“Nick Saban has dominated college football,” said Cowherd. “But Nick is very manipulative. If he goes to the podium and you ask him a question, he’ll go a different direction because he has a message he wants to send to college football. Nick said this last night in front of his donors. I need more money. Texas has oil money, energy money, and is a much richer state than Alabama. Steve Sarkisian can recruit, Jimbo Fisher can recruit, and they have richer donors.”
Lastly, Cowherd believes Saban needs to issue Fisher an apology.
“Nick Saban needs to apologize,” said Cowherd. “There is no proof Texas A&M is buying players. He ripped a program. He ripped a coach, and frankly Nick Saban is held to higher standard.”
