Illinois continues to hit the recruiting trail for the class of 2023, and Bret Bielema’s staff picked up another prospect late on Father’s Day.
The player is Jaheim Clarke, a safety out of Fort Myers, Florida. Clarke committed to the Illini over offers from Arkansas State, Iowa State, Marshall, Temple and USF, among others.
“After a wonderful conversation today with Bret Bielema, Aaron Henry and my family, I’m blessed to say I’m taken my talent to the University of Illinois,” Clarke wrote in his announcement on Twitter.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 164 lbs., 247 Sports rates Clarke as a 3-star prospect for 2023. Clarke is also rated the No. 75 safety nationally for the cycle.
Clarke’s commitment gave Illinois two on Father’s Day. 2023 kicker David Olano also pledged the Illini Sunday afternoon with Illinois up to 10 total commitments for the cycle.
