Paul Chryst and the Badgers have been one of the most consistent programs in the country under his leadership, and Chryst continued his climb up Wisconsin’s all-time wins list Saturday evening.

In Week 1, the Badgers steamrolled past Illinois State with a 38-0 shutout. Wisconsin was dominant on both sides of the ball with a 100-yard pick-6 and a rushing touchdown from 90+ yards out by Braelon Allen.

When the final whistle blew, Chryst recorded his 66th win as head coach of the Badgers. That bumps him out of a tie with Phil King for third on Wisconsin’s all-time wins list.

Chryst now trails ex-Badger and current Illinois head coach Bret Bielema by 2 wins for second on the program’s all-time list. Barry Alvarez holds the record with 119 wins.

Overall, Chryst is 66-23 since taking over the program in 2015, good for a .742 winning percentage. That mark ranks 4th all-time for the Badgers.

Barring disaster, Chryst should edge his way into No. 2 on the all-time list sometime during the 2022 season.
