Penn State receives verbal commit from four-star DE

Penn State’s 2018 recruiting class has taken some major hits over the last few weeks. But on Sunday, James Franklin and the Lions received some good news.
Four-star defensive end Dorian Hardy committed to Penn State on Sunday through his Twitter account:

The New Jersey native made his pledge following a campus visit according to Greg Pickel of PennLive.com
Hardy had offers from 23 programs, including nine B1G schools. He picked Penn State over Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama.
From 247Sports, Hardy is listed at 6-foot-5, 241 pounds and is the No. 6 ranked player from New Jersey. His national ranking in No. 160. He becomes the seventh four-star recruit to commit to the Nittany Lions for the 2018 class.
This was great news for Franklin after losing commitments from five-star recruits Micah Parsons (DL) and Justin Fields (QB).
Prior to Hardy’s announcement, Penn State had the nation’s fifth-best recruiting class and was ranked second in the B1G.
