After 28 games, including all 13 with 12 starts last season, Minnesota RB Rodney Smith reached 2,000 rushing yards in the Gophers first drive against Middle Tennesee this afternoon.

The 5-11 redshirt junior ran for 92 yards and a touchdown against Oregon State last week and has continued to be a consistent force for Minnesota throughout his career. Smith finished second in the Big Ten with 16 rushing touchdowns in 2016.
