Minnesota RB Rodney Smith reaches 2,000

After 28 games, including all 13 with 12 starts last season, Minnesota RB Rodney Smith reached 2,000 rushing yards in the Gophers first drive against Middle Tennesee this afternoon.

The 5-11 redshirt junior ran for 92 yards and a touchdown against Oregon State last week and has continued to be a consistent force for Minnesota throughout his career. Smith finished second in the Big Ten with 16 rushing touchdowns in 2016.
