Chris Holtmann comments on his commitment to Ohio State amidst coaching rumors

Chris Holtmann told reporters on Sunday that he is “absolutely” committed to being the coach at Ohio State beyond this season.
The question came after Ohio State’s 72-60 win over Illinois on Sunday afternoon in Columbus. Last week, Holtmann’s name was linked as a potential candidate at Notre Dame.
ESPN’s Jeff Borzello said Holtmann was 1 of 2 “buzzing” candidates for the job, alongside Penn State’s Micah Shrewsberry. Holtmann seemed to indicate that he won’t be jumping for another job this offseason.
“I love it here and Gene (Smith) and I have been very open about our plan in terms of moving forward,” he said.

Holtmann and the Buckeyes have had a difficult season. Ohio State entered the year with significant expectations, but will miss the NCAA Tournament barring a Big Ten Tournament Championship run.
This is Holtmann’s 6th season at the helm in Columbus. He has an overall record of 119-72 as Ohio State’s head coach.
