Joel Klatt believes Jim Harbaugh’s suspension says more about the ineptitude of the NCAA than it does about the wrong doings of Harbaugh.
Klatt gave his thoughts on the situation on his show Wednesday morning.
Klatt was straightforward when talking about how much the suspension actually matters. He argues that Harbaugh’s absence for the first 3 games will make little difference.
“The first thing I remember thinking to myself was, ‘Oh my gosh, who cares? What are we doing?'” Klatt said.
He then delved into what the suspension is actually all about and what people should be paying attention to.
“If you’re worried about this particular infraction, if you’re worried about the fairness of the number of games, or who imposes the suspension or whether the NCAA will take into account this suspension in the first place, I think that your eyes are in the wrong direction,” Klatt said. “That’s a diversion.”
For Klatt, the suspension speaks more to the issues with the NCAA rather than the things Michigan did wrong.
“To me, this is a symptom of a completely broken institution and that is institution is obviously the NCAA,” Klatt said. “The NCAA is archaic, they are slow, they are inept and they are inconsistent.”
