Paul Finebaum weighed in on the latest in the Jim Harbaugh sign-stealing saga on Get Up on Tuesday.
On Monday, Harbaugh said that he was informed of his 3-game suspension by a social media post rather than someone from the Big Ten telling him. Harbaugh also went on to say that Michigan should be “America’s team” throughout the ongoing investigation because of its perseverance.
Finebaum gave his thoughts on Harbaugh’s comments from Monday, saying that he thinks the Michigan coach is “detached from reality” as it pertains to the investigation.
“He just doesn’t make a lot of sense,” Finebaum said. “I’m trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I was saddened really by what I saw yesterday, because he is show detached from reality. It just doesn’t matter whether he was informed by a phone call, by the commissioner, by the AD or the president or by Twitter. It’s still the same. He is not an innocent party here. He’s being accused of serious things and that’s why the Big Ten acted the way it did.”
Michigan will play its 2nd of 3 games without Harbaugh this Saturday as it takes on Maryland. The Wolverines got a good win without Harbaugh on Saturday against Penn State, and they’re looking for another one this weekend.
