Sportsbook’s odds shift drastically after Ohio State’s Urban Meyer announcement

Urban Meyer may or may not have a future in Columbus. The odds at one online sportsbook are leaning toward the latter scenario.

BetDSI turned heads earlier Wednesday when it revealed betting odds for Ohio State’s head coach on Sept. 1, 2018. While the odds included longshot candidates like Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, Penn State’s James Franklin and Alabama’s Nick Saban, the favorite was Meyer himself. Earlier this afternoon, the odds were -300 that Meyer would be the coach (a $300 bet would have only won an additional $100) and +$240 that he would not (a $100 bet would win an additional $240).

Now that Ohio State has placed Meyer on administrative leave, the odds have shifted drastically. Meyer is no longer the favorite to be OSU’s head coach on Sept. 1, 2018 when the Buckeyes face Oregon State.
