We’ve all seen this story before.

Pat Fitzgerald and Northwestern are pros when it comes to pulling off a tight upset. The Wildcats have already shocked Michigan State in East Lansing this season while nearly taking down Michigan at home.

When breaking down Northwestern’s showdown against No. 20 Wisconsin, ESPN College GameDay analyst Chris Fallica provided some key numbers that lend a bit of insight. Known as “The Bear,” Fallica is known for providing his picks against the spread on the popular pre-game show.

According to Fallica, Northwestern is particularly dangerous as an underdog. He pointed out that the Wildcats are 9-2 in their last 11 games as an underdog. That streak includes six outright wins, making Northwestern 6-5 in their last 11 underdog showdowns.

Not only is that run impressive, but the Wildcats are also 3-0 against the spread as underdogs this season with two outright wins. Their streak against the spread against Wisconsin is equally impressive:

It’s worth pointing out Fallica has already taken one hit going against the Wildcats this season. He picked MSU to win prior to Northwestern’s big upset.

The Badgers opened as -6 favorites over the Wildcats this week. That line is now down to -4.5 as of Friday morning. Can the Wildcats pull off more underdog magic?

Kickoff is set for 12 pm EST on FOX.
