WATCH: Justin Fields reacts to being named Buckeye starting QB

Justin Fields was once a 5-star recruit.

Everything great was ahead of him once he chose to go to Georgia. Except, it took a bit of time for greatness to follow.

His first year at Georgia, Fields completed 27-of-39 passes for 328 yards, 4 TD and zero INT. For some QBs, that’s what a single game stat-line looks like. Not an entire year.

Fields was efficient and ran the ball very well during his limited action — accounting for 266 yards and 4 TD through the ground. However, he wasn’t starting at Georgia. And going into 2019, he figured he wouldn’t start again due to the starting QB returning to school.

With that in mind, Fields transferred to Ohio State.

Now that Fields has officially won the job and is the man in charge of the offense, how the Buckeyes do in 2019 will be dependent on him. If Fields plays well, the sky is the limit for an extremely talented Ohio State team. If he struggles, the CFB Playoff won’t be waiting.
