Trace McSorley was sensational at Penn State.
But eventually, he was going to leave. It happens to every college football player at some point. The Nittany Lions were going to need a new QB to lead the team and Tommy Stevens was supposed to be that guy.

Stevens suffered a foot injury though that led to some questioning regarding who the next signal-caller in Happy Valley would be. With the uncertainty that loomed, Stevens decided to transfer and wound up at Mississippi State in the hopes of landing a starting job. It should be noted, too, that the head coach of Mississippi State is Joe Moorhead, who was Penn State’s offensive coordinator from 2016-17.
On Thursday it became official that Stevens is the guy going forward:

During his time at Penn State, Stevens ran for 506 yards with 8 scores while throwing for 304 yards, 4 TD and 1 INT. The 6-foot-5 signal-caller earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Penn State in December and this is his final season left of eligibility.
