Nobody on the College GameDay set gave Hawai’i a chance to beat Arizona on Saturday night. Despite the Wildcats playing on the road against a high-powered offensive team, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corson and special guest Michael Irvin picked Arizona to win.

That wasn’t the case.

In the second game of a college football double-header on Saturday night, Hawai’i registered a 45-38 victory over the Arizona in a contest that came down to the final play. Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate took off from the 31-yard line on the final play of the game, only to come up a yard short of the end zone, securing the win for the Warriors.

After the game, Hawai’i head coach Nick Rolovich had a little fun with the College GameDay crew on Twitter. Below is the message he sent out:

That had to be a great feeling for Rolovich after leading his team to a 1-0 start on its home turf.

Hawai’i went 8-6 last season, so this wasn’t exactly a cakewalk for Arizona in the first place. But with it being a Power Five vs. Group of Five matchup, many expected the Wildcats to come away winners.

It didn’t play out that way, and Rolovich loved every second of it.
