Last year was a year that Nebraska fans were incredibly hyped up for.
The Scott Frost era was beginning. It was supposed to be Year 1 of the greatness to come. However, Nebraska got off to a rough start. The Huskers started 0-6 last season before winning four of their final six games.
Part of the reason for this was because of what happened in the team’s first game against Colorado. Nebraska not only lost an extremely close football game to open up 2018. But quarterback Adrian Martinez suffered a right knee injury due to a cheap shot.

The injury to the team’s star signal caller certainly didn’t help the Huskers out of the gates. Nebraska players haven’t forgotten that.
For 2019, Nebraska started out better, defeated South Alabama 35-21 and are 1-0 going into Week 2. For the team’s second game, the Huskers will be taking on Colorado.
Ahead of the rematch from a season ago, Nebraska DB Cam Taylor-Britt spoke about what won’t be a friendly game on Saturday:
Cam Taylor-Britt not shying away from the importance of playing well against Colorado after last season.
"It's a target on their head, man, basically. We're going to go out there and play Nebraska football."
— Evan Bland (@EvanBlandOWH) September 2, 2019
Taylor-Britt said that Colorado has a target on their head. Those are pretty big words, and the Buffaloes probably know it. Nebraska doesn’t like Colorado in general. But after what happened to Martinez last season, “doesn’t like” isn’t strong enough when talking about the Huskers’ feelings.
The word “hate” is probably more fitting.
