It was announced Friday that Ohio State superstar defensive end and Heisman contender Chase Young was suspended indefinitely.

So far, we know that Young verified the suspension on Twitter. He claimed he made a mistake in 2018, accepting a loan from a family friend. Young also claimed that he had already repaid the loan in full and is working with the university and the NCAA to restore his eligibility.

Later Friday evening, Bill Rabinowitz and Joey Kaufman with the Columbus Dispatch reported additional details on the story. According to their report, the loan was believed to be used to assist his family in attending last season’s Rose Bowl.

For now, fans will just have to wait and see if Young does indeed become eligible again in time to help the Buckeyes this season. Ohio State should take care of Maryland, but tough games against Penn State and Michigan remain, in addition to a potential B1G Championship Game.
