(Expletive) their damn boat: Sean Clifford’s pre-game speech did not age well

This is not a great look for Sean Clifford, especially considering how Saturday’s game turned out.
As most teams do prior to a game, the Nittany Lions gathered around for a pre-game speech from their quarterback. To his credit, Clifford did deliver a passionate and fiery speech, but he took some shots at Minnesota in the process.
Clifford hyped up Penn State and said that the Nittany Lions “were the show” and that the stadium would be packed, not for the Gophers, but to see Penn State play. However, his biggest shot came at the expense of P.J. Fleck’s “Row the Boat” motto.
“(BLEEP) their damn boat,” exclaimed Clifford before the team headed out to the field.

Unfortunately for Clifford, the boat rowed just fine on Saturday. Minnesota put up 31 points against Penn State while forcing Clifford into three costly interceptions.
While it may seem unlikely, there’s still an outside chance that these two teams get a rematch in Indianapolis. With Clifford’s comments sure to add a bit of ammunition to any future contests, we wouldn’t mind seeing a rematch.
