Michigan-Michigan State is a rivalry. The two programs don’t like each other, to say the least.
That being said, nobody should want the opposition to get hurt. On the field on Saturday, the two teams got involved in some pushing and shoving matches, but there was nothing dirty going on.

On one play in the third quarter, though, Michigan DL Kwity Paye was getting after Michigan State QB Brian Lewerke and after Lewerke threw the ball, Paye knocked Lewerke’s helmet with his own. There was no targeting called, but there was a roughing the passer penalty:

Was Paye trying to hurt Lewerke here? Probably not. He likely just got too high with his hit.
Regardless, shouldn’t the possibility of targeting have been looked into?
