Former Penn State DB Amani Oruwariye has recorded his first career interception in the NFL.

The ex-Nittany Lions defender is in his rookie season with the Detroit Lions. After spending four seasons in Happy Valley, the Lions selected Oruwariye in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

It has been a rough first year for Oruwariye. He has appeared in just three games with two total tackles entering Sunday’s action. However, he made a very nice play to grab his first pick.

With a Washington Redskins receiver running an out route, Dwayne Haskins tried to fit a throw in a tight window. Unfortunately, Haskins’ throw was a bit behind his man and Oruwariye fought through and ripped the ball away from the receiver.
