Raheem Blackshear’s decision to sit out the rest of the 2019 season and retain a year of eligibility has become a bit clearer.

Blackshear, a junior, appeared in four games for Rutgers early on this season. He then decided to sit out the rest of the games and retain a year of eligibility, a byproduct of the new redshirt rule. Blackshear had 398 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in 2019.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reported that Blackshear has now hit the transfer portal. Considering the ongoing changes at head coach and uncertain future of the program, it would not be too surprising to see Blackshear transfer out of Rutgers.

For his career, Blackshear has 1,722 total yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns. He rushed for 912 yards and averaged 4.3  yards per carry.

Where will he end up for 2020?
