Redshirt freshman safety for Minnesota expresses intent on leaving program
Bowl team or not, that time of year is here. Players all over the country are expressing the desire to play elsewhere.
On Monday, Minnesota safety C.J. Smith announced that he would be entering the NCAA transfer portal:

Smith was a 3-star recruit in Minnesota’s 2018 recruiting class and is a redshirt freshman. He has not appeared in a game for the Golden Gophers during his two years there. Smith is originally from Jacksonville, Fla. and is the sixth member of the 2018 class to depart from Minnesota.

In 2017, Smith flipped his commitment from Georgia Southern to play for the Gophers.
