According to Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel, Maryland special teams coordinator and linebackers coach John Papuchis is leaving for Florida State.

As Thamel mentioned, Papuchis is a former Nebraska defensive coordinator and would make the move to Florida State to act as the special teams coordinator (again) as well as coaching defensive ends. Florida State hasn’t been the powerhouse program lately that it once was, but the Seminoles do have a rich tradition.
Papuchis likely sees this as a step up, going from Maryland to Florida State. We’ll find out soon enough if this was the right move.
