Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields and other stars take part in #WeWantToPlay movement
The #WeWantToPlay movement is picking up incredible steam. After several college football stars flooded Twitter on Sunday, making the plea for the season to be played, many shared a message on social media showing they are standing together.
Over the weekend, the #WeWantToPlay movement began when Penn State players began tweeting out reasons they felt safe enough to have a college football season. Those comments came shortly after the MAC opted to postpone all fall sports and try for a college football season in the spring.
As word picked up that the college football was on life support at the Power 5 level, Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence fired off a string of tweets, explaining why playing the sport was safe this fall. He received a ton of support, and now many other prominent names are joining the movement to show their desire to play football this year.

Many other big names in college football tweeted out the same message.
Also on Sunday night, the parents of Ohio State football players voiced their support for having a football season this fall. They believe that the OSU program has made health and safety a priority at the campus.
There have been reports from Yahoo Sports saying that decision makers in college athletics are ready to pull the plug on fall sports and look towards playing in the spring. Detroit Free Press reporter David Jesse reported that B1G commissioner Kevin Warren was in favor of a spring season.
Will the players’ latest push be enough to save the season?
