Another conference is opting back in on the 2020 college football season.

Late on Thursday night, the Mountain West announced that it will be returning to competition this fall. The conference was the second at the FBS level to opt out of playing in 2020, right behind the Mid-American Conference (MAC).

The Mountain West will have teams play an eight-game schedule with the first kickoff coming on Oct. 24. It is following the B1G’s model, which will also begin its season that weekend. The season will conclude on Dec. 19 with the Mountain West Championship Game.

The Mountain West’s decision comes the same night that the Pac-12 announced its decision to return to play this fall, as well. That means that nine of the 10 leagues at the FBS level will be playing football in the fall.

The Pac-12 will be starting the season on Nov. 6 and will have a seven-game league-only schedule with a championship weekend also on Dec. 19. Both conferences will finish their seasons a day before the College Football Playoff selection committee releases its final rankings.
